Our story

From a single press to a national library

Rejina began in 1972 with one letterpress machine and a conviction that the best Sinhala writing deserved beautiful editions. Our first list of a dozen novels found its way into homes and schools across the island.

Today we publish across novels, poetry, children's books and translation β€” and we still read every manuscript by hand. The machines have changed; the care has not.

What we stand for

Our values

Language first

Every title we print is a small act of preservation β€” the living beauty of the Sinhala language, set in type for the next generation.

Craft & quality

From acid-free paper to thread-sewn bindings, our books are made to be read, lent, and kept for a lifetime.

Authors we believe in

We back voices long before they are famous, and stay with them across a career β€” not just a single bestseller.

Reading for all

Affordable editions, school programmes and island-wide delivery, so a good book is never out of reach.
